President Lorenzo Snow

Jesus was a god before he came into the world and yet his knowledge was taken from him. He did not know his former greatness, neither do we know what greatness we had attained to before we came here, but he had to pass through an ordeal, as we have to, without knowing or realizing at the time the greatness and importance of his mission and works.

Hey I'm glad you caught that we are trying to emulate the flylady approach. FlyLady and Dave Ramsey both use babysteps and we totally found that that was the BEST way to take a difficult task and make it DOABLE! Thanks for posting our link :)

This is the first time I have read your blog postings and I had a few thoughts about this entry:

After discussing the graph with a friend of mine—an Edward Jones broker—we noticed that without further data the chart cited in the video was really inconclusive. Your interpretation of the BDI more or less suggests that the global shipment of goods has dropped 93%, hence no one is producing anything and the economy is going to stall/crash soon. The problem with the chart is that it only goes back to 2002. The decline in the Baltic Dry Index is right on track with the decline in the stock market. (Stock values and the Baltic Dry Index are at the same level they were in 2002 comparatively.) Theoretically, if the value of the BDI was 90 pts in 2002 and 100 pts in 2007, then dropped back down to 90 pts today that is only a 10% drop from the high in 2007. If the BDI tracks with the stock market then the drop should be around 35-40%. Yes, this is a bad thing for the economy and we are in a recession, but not necessarily a time to hyperventilate or rush the grocery store for the last gallon of milk. (We tried to find a more extensive history of the BDI, but didn't get very far.)

Doug,

The video linked here isn't of my making and simply reflects the maker's interpretation of the information available.

MY focus is to gather information and present it for others to prayerfully consider so they can make prudent, inspired decisions. It is easier to be a good steward if you're informed and inspired.

It has been my uncomfortable realization that many people are woefully un/under-informed on crucial matters . . .and, frankly, some of them prefer it that way.

The intent here isn't to get others to panic or rush grocery stores but to prayerfully and systematically prepare for what we have been been warned lies ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to think about the above video and post a comment.
